Following an acquisition, Canstockphoto.com images will be made available via Fotosearch.

"Introduction of Can Stock Photo content will begin on the Brazilian and Japanese sites, www.fotosearch.com.br and www.fotosearch.jp, with more sites to follow. Once the content is fully rolled-out, Can Stock Photo contributors will be exposed to millions of Fotosearch visitors every week. Through Fotosearch, contributors will be able to sell images as prints".

Canstock have confirmed that all of their images will be made available via fotosearch, no hand picking of images will take place. Up to now my canstock sales have been a little slow, and while that's better than the sites that don't earn any income, having Fotosearch and Can Stock under common ownership can do nothing but improve sales levels.

"Can Stock Photo will be marketing its website more aggressively to attract even more stock photography buyers. Duncan Enman, who created Can Stock Photo while a university student in Nova Scotia, Canada, will remain involved with Can Stock Photo."

Considering fotosearch is currently an aggregator of traditional rights managed and full price royalty free images, the news is another landmark in the acceptance of microstock into stock photo industry mainstream.

Fotosearch is a scam

I partnered up with fotosearch.com nearly 5 years ago. The experience has been terrible to say the least. Fotosearch is supposed to send me a percentage of all my sales. However, the last 2-3 years, I've garnered zero sales. The reporting arrives is a typed out spread sheet showing zero sales with no tracking information. For all I know, the company is fudging the information. I asked fotosearch.com to remove my content, but they refuse to do so. Content providers beware if you are dealing with fotosearch.com. In addition, you have no control over the sale price. Fotosearch.com is ridiculously expensive. You can find the same content directly from other companies for a lot less. istockphoto.com and istockmoments.com are much less with some higher quality stuff.
